Textured abstract art uses various art materials to create a 3D textured finish. This may include the use of gesso or primer mixed with all manner of other ingredients to create a textured effect.

Fullers earth, gells. volcanic ash, pure paint pigments, collage, moulding paste, carbon dust, powdered gemstones, found objects and various bits and bobs might be included in the work.

The result is a wonderful tactile finish that has it's own sense of depth and a semi sculptural quality.

This kind of painting looks more interesting the closer you look at it.

It's also classified as Mixed Media Art on account of the various media used in it's creation.

The Silk road paintings are inspired by many oriental journeys and evoke the atmosphere of the ancient silk routes. Along the silk routes travelled the silks and gems to adorn ancient roman damsels as well as the religious teachings like Buddhism that spread from India to China. Marco Polo travelled these same roadways and some say brought back pasta.. well done Marco....where would Marco Pierre White be without you.

Digital Art means art made using computers.

Please don\'t think that Digital art means easy art. People once said that about Vincent, Rothko, Pollack or the great photographers et al. Digital art is a highly skilled art media. Just because the artist  uses a computer does not mean it requires less skill than that of painter or sculpture. In fact it may require much more skill.

There is something undeniably beautiful and enigmatic about this kind of art.

I'm sure most of us do love to see the sunrise in the morning and set in the evening.

Especially when it's a sunrise over the ocean or sunset on the distant horizon of the sea.

Obviously, we don't see this unless we're by the sea but who would deny the the beauty and romance
of a rising or setting sun.

Those people who do manage to get up early enough to see the sunrise will agree that the rising sun can look awesome.
