Textured abstract art uses various art materials to create a 3D textured finish. This may include the use of gesso or primer mixed with all manner of other ingredients to create a textured effect.

Fullers earth, gells. volcanic ash, pure paint pigments, collage, moulding paste, carbon dust, powdered gemstones, found objects and various bits and bobs might be included in the work.

The result is a wonderful tactile finish that has it's own sense of depth and a semi sculptural quality.

It's also classified as Mixed Media Art on account of the various media used in it's creation.
