Mixed media paintings
Mixed media, means an artwork in which many types of mediums have been used in it's creation. For example a combination of oil paint, texture mediums and collage is mixed media. A mixed media artwork may also include digital art and found materials in it's content
Any variety of media, such as gesso, collage, moulding pastes,inks, gells, photos,papers, pastes, oil paint, acrylics, fullers earth,volcanic ash.
Mixed media art is built up in layers and may be narrative as in the work of mixed media narrative abstract artist James Thorn
Pioneers in the field of mixed media art are Picasso, Braque and Rauschenburg.
Mixed media is different from Multi media.
Multi media is a combination of artistic media that would include media like Film, Music, Poetry, Dance or any other Artistic expression.
